Dr. Patrounova is a dedicated dental hygiene educator and administrator with extensive experience in academia and professional development programs. She has shown exemplary leadership in her field: leading her school's Dental Hygiene Program, participating in novel research, and holding positions in various national and local professional organizations. She advances dental hygiene education initiatives through her expertise in curriculum development and through her collaborations with educators, academic institutions, and healthcare professionals.

Dr. Patrounova's research interests include tobacco trends, digital dentistry, nitrous oxide sedation, and the oral-systemic connection.
On these topics, she has published articles in numerous academic journals, authored a chapter in a textbook, and presented over 50 continuing education courses at national and local levels.
